Over 1,502 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Pil Gani ward’ of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The PDP decampees were received by the Executive Chairman of the Langtang North Barrister Zulfa Rimven over the weekend.
Speaking on their decision to dump the PDP, the leader of the decampees, Ringa Nanlok stated that they were satisfied with the council chairman Hon. Zulfa and the Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong.
Daily Independent reports that recently Barr Zulfa Bitrus Rimven had set up a committee to receive decampees.
Speaking while receiving the decampees, Hon Zulfa who was accompanied by the Commissioner for housing Hon Brian Bintim Dadi and all the LGA APC aspirants for the forthcoming 2023 election, assured them of justice and fairness amongst members of the ruling party and called on others who are yet to join to do so.
The council boss who described the event as a ‘harvest’ of over 1,502 members, expressed delight that most of the returnees are former leaders, ward excos and members of the people’s democratic party ( PDP).
Zulfa, therefore, charged them to use their political weight to ensure victory for the party come 2023 and beyond.
He, however, appealed to both old and new members of the ruling party to work together in peace and be law-abiding and emphasised the supremacy of the party decisions.
Another decamped was the former deputy chairman of the ( PDP) Pil Gani ward Mr Vongdul assured party faithfuls that their return to APC was to consolidate on the achievement recorded by the incumbent chairman of the council.
He assured all members of their dedication and team spirit in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
