“We Are The Ones Responsible For String Of Kidnapping And Banditry Operations In 3 States” – Suspect
In a recent press statement released by Chief Superintendent of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi; the Nigeria Police Force’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), some suspects were arrested and they made confessions while being paraded.
The suspects, Abdulrahman Ba’u and Ahmadu Umaru, said, “we are the ones responsible for string of kidnapping and banditry operations in three (3) states – Taraba, Gombe and Adamawa.”
After the arrest of the suspects, who are both residents of Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba state, items recovered from them were a locally-made revolver gun, three rounds of live ammunition, three operational swords, hard drugs and military camouflage uniforms.
Having learnt about the arrest of the suspects, the Inspector General of Police (IGP); Usman Alkali Baba, charged operatives of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to adopt native intelligence and information and communication technological (ICT) approaches in carrying out operations forthwith.
Some of the technological assets to be used as suggested by the IGP are the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and upgraded road-to-base operational vehicles which are installed with reporting features and high-tech communication.
