Two days after a falling out with his mother, Ethan was declared dead and put into a coffin for the funeral ceremony. When his mom showed up and angrily demanded to see him one more time, she discovered something that made everybody scream in horror.

When Jasmine was young, she fell in love with a boy named Tyler. He was charming and made Jasmine feel special. After a few months of dating, she discovered she was pregnant. She was nervous about telling Tyler but hoped he would be supportive and happy about this new chapter of their life.

When she told him the news, though, Tyler’s reaction shocked her. He instantly suggested that she terminate the pregnancy, reminding her that she was only 19 years old and had no way of providing for this baby. When she adamantly refused, he demanded she choose between him and the child. When she protested again, he refused to listen and left. Jasmine was heartbroken but decided to keep the baby.

While an abortion seemed like an easy way out, Jasmine never could have found the strength to go through with it. For nine months, Jasmine wondered how she would raise the child alone and if she had made the right choice by keeping it. She took on menial jobs to support herself and tried to save as much money as she could from her minimum wage earnings.

While working at a convenience store, Jasmine met a wealthy woman who owned a non-profit organization that supported teenage mothers. With her guidance and support, Jasmine was able to gain financial stability. She continued to work hard and save money all while carrying the child and preparing for its arrival.

In due time, Jasmine gave birth to a handsome baby boy who she named Ethan. When she held Ethan in her arms for the first time, tears of joy streamed down her face, and she realized she had made the right choice. She promised him she would always be by his side and joyfully embarked on this new adventure with him.

Jasmine kept her promise and was always there for Ethan. They were together every single day and only spent a few hours away from each other, usually when Ethan was in school or Jasmine was working. After graduating high school, Ethan was awarded a scholarship to attend an Ivy League school thousands of miles away from the small town he grew up in. With his mother Jasmine feeling bittersweet, she said her goodbyes. She was proud of Ethan and knew he would do great things, but she also knew she would miss him terribly. She had given Ethan the love and support he needed to succeed, and now he was off to make his mark on the world.

Ethan went on to major in mechanical engineering and graduated with honors. He landed a job at a renowned engineering company where he met Stella, who worked in Human Resources. Ethan and Stella quickly became friends, thanks to their shared interests, and eventually developed romantic feelings for each other.

Despite their different career paths, they were both ambitious individuals who wanted more out of life. Stella suggested that they start their own business together, and he immediately agreed. To make her happy, she could handle the business management side, and Ethan could focus on product development.

Ethan already had extensive knowledge of building materials thanks to his studies and previous work experience, so he decided to create composite parts using new technologies. These parts ended up being very useful for airplanes, and their company quickly rose to success. In only a year, they were able to expand and hire over 300 employees.

Despite the success Ethan achieved in his professional life, he faced a significant challenge. He found himself struggling to balance his responsibilities, leading him to be too exhausted to see his mother as often as he wanted.

He desperately wished for her to be closer, so he offered for her to move to the city and live with him, but Jasmine declined, preferring to remain in the small town she called home. Although Ethan respected her decision, it didn’t make his longing for her any less painful. However, he could do something else for her. He set a nice plan in motion and informed Stella about it. Then he drove 6 hours to surprise his mother at her workplace.

They spent time together catching up on each other’s lives. He wanted to tell her what he had in store for her, but first, he decided to share his plan to propose to Stella. He thought his mother would be overjoyed, but instead, she immediately expressed her disapproval, convinced that Stella was only interested in Ethan’s money and business, not him. She had only spoken to her over the phone a few times, but something in the way she looked at her son told her she was not being completely honest with him.

Despite Ethan’s pleas and defense of Stella, Jasmine remained steadfast in her opinion. The conversation ended in an argument, and Ethan left in anger.

Two days later, Jasmine received devastating news. Ethan had passed away suddenly, and Stella had already arranged the funeral without her knowledge. Jasmine was confused as to why there was no explanation for her son’s sudden death and wanted answers, so she rushed to the city where the ceremony was taking place.

When she arrived at her son’s funeral, she was shocked to find out that he had only been declared dead eight hours earlier, and Stella had planned a quick ceremony to say goodbye before the embalming process. Apparently, she was good friends with the funeral directors, and they had agreed to an unusual process.

Still puzzled, Jasmine asked Stella if she could see her son one last time. However, Stella refused and told the pallbearers to seal the coffin immediately. Filled with desperation and anger, Jasmine pushed her way through them.

They fought her and stopped her, but the priest begged them to let this grieving mother have a last moment with her beloved son. As Jasmine lifted the lid off the coffin, she was utterly shocked by what she saw. She cried out loud, and all of the funeral attendees were frightened by her reaction.

They all rushed toward the coffin to catch a look at what she had seen, and what happened next made everyone scream. No one could believe their eyes. Ethan’s chest was moving up and down, indicating that he was breathing and still alive. It was a miracle; they yelled. Maybe it was something else.

Jasmine’s scream echoed through the cemetery. “My son is alive! He’s not dead! What have you done to him?” Her accusing finger pointed at Stella, who stood there in stunned silence.

An ambulance was called immediately, and Ethan was rushed to the hospital for further examination. In the chaos, one of Ethan’s friends, who happened to be a police officer, took Stella into custody.

Desperate for leniency in her sentence, she confessed to her heinous crime of giving Ethan an overdose of sleeping pills. He had told her he planned on giving his mother a huge share of the company, thus making her rich and allowing her to finally get the rest she needed from a life of sacrifices.

However, since they had fought before discussing the topic, she had realized that she still had the chance to take the company for herself. She only needed to get Ethan out of the way. After administering the pills, she had contacted her friends from the funeral home to plan a quick funeral without asking questions.

As a punishment for her crimes, Stella was forced to surrender her rights to the company and was sentenced to many years in jail. If Jasmine hadn’t demanded to see her son one last time, he would have died a horrible death.

When Ethan woke up, he immediately regretted not listening to his mother about Stella, but he was glad that she had saved him, giving him a second chance at life. His mom had truly been watching over him, just as she had promised all those years before. And even though he had gone through a terrifying ordeal, he knew he could always count on her.
