I Recently discovered that I am 12 weeks pregnant, I feel am in Trouble

I recently discovered that I am 12 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, my relationship with my younger sister , whom I’ll refer to as K, is strained. Our connection is virtually nonexistent, and this realization brings me immense sadness.

As my sister’s graduation approaches, there have been discussions about my attendance, although that is a separate matter entirely. However, K has been displaying her usual hostile behavior towards me. She frequently picks fights, insults everyone in the household, and exhibits a sense of entitlement and self-centeredness that makes it difficult to be around her.

During one of our recent encounters, she began berating me for my pregnancy, as she often does. In a moment of frustration, I responded with a comment that I now regret. I understand that engaging in such exchanges is not productive or beneficial for either of us.

I walked away from the situation after she insulted me for being pregnant, using derogatory language. I became emotional, as I have been struggling with severe morning sickness and required medication to cope with it. Additionally, my work hours were reduced due to the pregnancy, adding to the challenges I am facing.

K continued to provoke me by making inappropriate comments, referring to my partner’s physical attributes and suggesting that our child would be negatively affected. At that moment, I was taken aback because I hadn’t even been aware of the gender of the baby. My emotions overwhelmed me, and I began to cry. Our stepdad, who is aware of the pregnancy, intervened upon hearing the commotion, demanding an explanation for the situation. He expressed his frustration towards K for revealing the gender, as we had planned a gender reveal event on Saturday, which she was well aware of. I was devastated by this turn of events.

When my mother returned home from work and saw me in tears, she was understandably upset. She has experienced a similar situation in the past, which deeply affected her. I was utterly shattered, and in the midst of my anguish, I told K that she would not be involved in my child’s life, nor would she be invited to my future wedding.

I made it clear that I no longer consider her a part of my life. I am fearful of sharing this incident with my boyfriend, as I know he will be upset that such an important moment was taken away from us. It’s worth noting that he does not possess the physical attributes K mentioned. It saddens me to see the way K treats everyone, resulting in strained relationships and people distancing themselves from her. It seems that she resents the fact that others are moving forward with their lives while she feels left behind.

In this difficult time, I am heartbroken and unsure of what steps to take next. I have already conveyed to K that she will not have a relationship with my significant other. It’s a painful decision, but one that I believe is necessary for my own well-being and the well-being of my child.
