My Sister is Mad at me Because I always Play with my Friends and Not Her
I am two years older than her, with her being 14 years old and myself being 17. She has always had issues with anger, and whenever she sees me with my friends, she immediately becomes upset because I spend more time with them than with her.
I attempted to include her in my friend group, but she would make fun of me and say hurtful things in front of them. Given that I work, I come home exhausted and often fall asleep. However, she wakes me up angrily, accusing me of being lazy and avoiding talking to her. About a year ago, I had an experience that caused me anxiety as I lost my virginity to someone I didn’t want to be with.
It all happened too quickly, and I needed someone to confide in, so I turned to my sister. Unfortunately, she now uses that information to blackmail me, calling me derogatory names like “slut” and “whore.” When I started dating someone, she constantly warned me that he would cheat, leave, or hurt me.
However, as she got to know him, she began to like him on my behalf. Now she gets upset when I spend time with him instead of her. Today, I arrived home tired from work but decided not to sleep and instead do something productive like working out. However, my sister took my phone and ran around the house with it when I refused to give it to her, which angered me.
This escalated to the point where she started hitting me with a broom until I managed to retrieve my phone. She then proceeded to take away all my workout equipment. There have been instances when she demands that I do things for her, such as getting her a charger, preparing her food, or cleaning the dishes she used.
If I don’t comply, she becomes furious, screams at me, and attempts to physically harm me. I don’t know what to do anymore. I have informed my parents about the situation, but they seem unable to control her. Moreover, I have shared numerous secrets with her out of trust, but she now uses them to manipulate me into doing what she wants.
For instance, there was a time when she became angry because I left school early on a day when I had no exams, just as she did.
She threatened to inform our mother about this unless I picked her up, disrupting my date with my boyfriend. It seems that whenever she notices me engaging in activities that bring me joy, she wants to ruin them.
