Hospitalized Man Overhears His Sons Splitting The Inheritance, Then He Teaches Them A Lesson

After a minor stroke, George found himself weak but alerted the hospital. His two sons, Eric and Giovanni, were by his side over the years, assuring him they were successful businessmen, financially secure, and not interested in his modest fortune. As night fell and the hospital went quiet, he overheard a harsh conversation that made him question everything. His sons, thinking him asleep, were discussing his estate, their words filled with greed and deception.

George, his two sons Eric and Giovanni, still had no idea that their father overheard them talking about his inheritance. They presumed that they could still keep the facade about how much they cared about him and how concerned they were about his condition. But what they also did not know was that their father had actually teamed up with the police officer that had saved his life days earlier with the goal of teaching his sons a lesson. He had spoiled these boys for years, but it was clear to him by now that this had turned them into monsters. So when the boys came in the next day, the officer was already waiting for them.

Even before Eric and Giovanni realized what was happening, the officer had already put them in handcuffs. They were demanding an explanation, and George was more than willing to give them that. When the boys heard those words leave their father’s lips, they knew they were done for. The old man knew everything, and they were in deep, deep trouble.

But what had George’s son done? What revenge was the old man planning to take? And why did he need a police officer’s help for it? It was thanks to one of his neighbors that the old man, George, had even made it to the hospital in the first place. He had no idea what had happened to George, but he coincidentally saw him through the window when he was walking his dog past the old man’s house. George was laying on the floor in his living room unconscious, and the neighbor did not hesitate a second.

With a man of his age, this could only mean bad news. He started knocking on the window, trying to get the old man’s attention, but when George did not move a muscle, the neighbor knew that he had no other choice than to call 9-1-1. He needed to get the professionals to the scene as quickly as possible. An ambulance came accompanied by a police car, and they were more than ready to break open the door of the house. But they actually found that the door was unlocked and that they could walk right in.

While their quick thinking would end up proving vital to George, maybe they should have been just a little more careful not to disturb anything in the home, as they would be back there much sooner than they’d expected. George was rushed to the hospital, and one of the police officers, Marty, who had carried him, also took it upon himself to inform the family. But he quickly realized that the old man had a quite difficult family situation that only got sadder the more he learned about it.

Of course, George did not have parents left, but they had apparently kicked him out of the house when he was only 18 years old and then wanted nothing to do with him anymore. But despite having such a poor example set for him, George did decide to start a family for himself, marrying a woman named Nicole, having two children, a daughter, and a son together. Sadly for the family, the daughter had moved abroad when she was only 16 years old, and after two years, the family suddenly stopped hearing about her. They tried everything to find her but were ultimately unsuccessful. She’s presumed dead.

But in the time between George marrying Nicole, starting a family, and losing his daughter, he actually managed to become an extremely successful businessman. He made millions of dollars on the stock market and had built up a modest fortune. Sadly, it seems to be always the case with money; it did not bring him much good. It would end up being the cause of a lot of more family issues. After the disappearance of his daughter, Nicole actually demanded to have a divorce. This was also right around the time that George was planning to stop working, which meant his fortune was probably at the highest it was going to be.

It had become clear that Nicole had waited for this exact moment as she would now demand half the money from her soon-to-be ex-husband. Another big blow to George’s golden heart. The only family members that George still seemed to have left were his sons, Eric and Giovanni, who claimed to be successful businessmen themselves. They moved out of the house many years ago and had busy lives themselves, but from what Marty could gather, they were still in contact with their father, and thus these were the only people Officer Marty could inform of George’s hospitalization.

But he would probably have been better off not telling anybody at all. Marty was surprised to hear the reaction from the sons. They did not even seem to be shocked a bit to hear about what happened to their father.

And while the neighbors might not have known why George passed out on the floor, his sons were both pretty sure that it would have something to do with his heart. The father had apparently been struggling with a Staker for a while. The police looked at the face value at the time, but were these boys actually speaking the truth?

They both told Marty that they would be on their way to the hospital and they were set to arrive somewhere in the evening. And that was supposed to be the end of Officer Marty’s involvement in the case, but the emphasis on “supposed to be” as in the following days, he could not help himself thinking back to the old man and his strange family situation. He even started keeping tabs on how he was doing in the hospital.

In the hospital, George’s condition had not much improved. Sadly, when he was brought in, the doctors could find nothing in his medical history that would suggest a cause for him just collapsing on the floor like this. And because they had trouble finding the cause, they could remedy; they were left just trying to keep him stable for the time being.

And luckily, the doctors managed to just about get that done. And at least for now, George was very much dependent on the machines he was hooked up to survive. The hope was that this would only be temporary, but she could never be sure in these situations when you don’t know what caused an episode. It also becomes very difficult to stop it from happening again.

And that was also the sad news Eric and Giovanni received when they arrived at the hospital. The boys didn’t seem even a bit surprised that their father had survived at this age. Something like this could be very fatal. They wanted to see him right away, but the doctors could not allow it. The man was still in very poor condition and could not have any distractions or things to think about. He needed to focus on staying alive for now. The boys seemed to be visibly annoyed by this, but, of course, they had no other choice than to accept it.

The night went over relatively smooth. George regained some of his strength. He was still far too weak to communicate. In the morning, it would end up being in the situation for the next couple of days. The two sons would come by every day to see if they could ask their father some questions, but every time they found out that their father was still too weak.

They immediately left again in a bad mood. The nurses that took care of George started to wonder why would they not just stay a little while longer with their poor father.

There was no telling if the man was ever going to make it out of the hospital, and if they were in the area anyway, it would make so much sense to just stay here. She even asked the boys one day what were they planning to do, but all she got as an answer was, “None of your business.”

The nurse was coincidentally also the hospital employee that Officer Marty was staying in contact with to get updates on George’s situation. They both knew that this was not exactly typical, but the nurse only found it admirable that Marty was still so concerned about the old man.

They also talked about his sons, and Marty was surprised to hear about their behavior. But then he started to think back to the strange conversation he had with them when he informed the boys about their father’s accident. Something about this whole situation just did not sit well with him. But he had nowhere near enough reason to do anything about it or investigate anything. He was not even supposed to know about what was going on inside that hospital. The only way he could really get involved was to be asked to do so, and that came from George himself.

And wouldn’t you know it, that is exactly what was set to happen. Very soon, four days after he was hospitalized, George finally started to regain enough strength to actually start doing things again, like eating and drinking on his own and engaging in some conversation. But before the nurse managed to tell Eric and Giovanni about this, George was actually surprised to see that his sons had come in earlier than normal that day. He was excited to talk to them again and happy that they came in so often.

But that happiness would soon quickly fade away. He pretended to be still asleep and very weak when his sons came in because he wanted to surprise his boys. But this plan would backfire very soon. Eric and Giovanni saw that their father was still unresponsive. They started engaging in a conversation that George would have never heard, and it broke the old man’s heart to hear that the only family he still had talked like that about him.

The boys discussed how knowing it was to wait until George was awake. All they wanted to do was to discuss the distribution of the inheritance with him, and they could finally get home. Now they would have to spend another day doing nothing but waiting and drinking in this city.

And after that conversation, they shook their father a little bit, but when he did not react to it, they left again, probably only to return tomorrow. George felt heartbroken by the situation and really did not want to see anybody else that day.

He just needed to be alone with his thoughts, but unbeknownst to him, he was actually set to have another visitor that day. The nurse had informed that Officer Marty that morning that George was finally awake again, and without any hesitation, the officer had decided that he would come by that afternoon to have a chat with George.

There was so much he wanted to know about the old man, but when he came into the hospital room half an hour later, he was shocked to see that the man was in tears. But luckily, George was in a good enough state that he could discuss everything that had happened that day.

It was clear that he was just mainly very happy that he finally had somebody here that actually seemed to care about what he had to say. Marty felt horrible for the old man when he heard how little his sons seemed to care about his health and well-being, especially because when he knew so much already about the old man’s troubled family history.

They also talked about how George ended up passed out on the floor, and this is where Marty suddenly started to connect some dots. Because it seemed like George had no idea what had happened to him. Eric and Giovanni had told Officer Marty that their father had struggled with heart problems in the past.

But according to George, this was not true whatsoever. He was actually in very good health and never had anything similar happen to him before. The doctors had also still not found anything that could have caused a sudden collapse. Marty just could not understand why the boys would have to lie to him about something like that.

George also told Marty that he was surprised that his sons were with him in the hospital so soon. They both lived on the other side of the country, so it was not like they could just easily drive over here. It was a flight of at least six hours. But after the call, they were apparently in the hospital only three hours later. They had to already be in the area. But George had no idea, which was not a total surprise, as the contact between the old man and his sons was shallow at best after his stock.

Marty knew that there was something going on and started to look into the two boys. He would eventually find out that they actually tried to poison their father to get their hands on their inheritance. Luckily, George survived their ordeal, and the boys were put in prison for the attempt of murder. But it was not all sad news for George, as his story made headlines around the world, and his long-lost daughter managed to see it as well, motivating her to get back in contact with her father.
