A man identified Daniel Chibuike Bassi, has been convinced to come down from a 200 feet mast unhurt by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Bassi was said to have climbed the mast located at Nasfat Centre by Go Yee Church, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos on Wednesday,
Officials of different agencies swing into action The acting coordinator of NEMA, southwest, Ibrahim Farinloye in a statement shared with Legit.ng said Bassi was convinced to come down from the mast unhurt.
Farinloye said Bassi who is an aluminium technician works in the Aluminium Village and lives in Dopemu area of Lagos state.
He has since been taken to the Gowon Estate Police Station, Lagos for an interactive discussion with officials of NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the Police.
According to the NEMA official, from the discussions so far, Bassi appears to be incoherent and could not make a complete statement all through. He added that the technician could not remember his age until some people were consulted.
Farinloye said the agency has also appealed to officials from the Nigeria Police Force to allow Bassi who seems distressed some time to calm down before any further action could be taken.
