I Have Declared my Interest to Run for President of Nigeria, I Hope Atiku Will Support Me” – Yul Begs

In a post shared on his verified social media handle, yesterday, top Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has revealed that he will be running for the position of the President of Nigeria, in 2023.

Yul Edochie also stated that he supported the People’s Democratic Party PDP presidential candidate in 2019, Atiku Abubakar, and so, he hopes that Atiku will also support him.

In his words, Yul wrote thus:

“In 2019 I supported Atiku @aatiku for President.

I did it with my full chest, proudly.

I did not do it for money.

I was not paid to do it.

May God punish me if I lie.

I even resigned from my Government appointment then so I could give Atiku my full support without any hindrance.

I did it because I want a positive turnaround in our country.

I ATIKULATED social media.

I ATIKULATED the whole of Anambra State.

I ATIKULATED all Nigerian youths who believed in me to stand with Atiku.

Unfortunately, it turned out the way it did.

This time around it’s the turn of the southeast to produce the next President.

And I have declared my interest to run for President of Nigeria, 2023.

I hope Atiku will support me the way I supported him.

God bless our great country Nigeria”.

In my opinion, Yul’s declaration to run for President in 2023, is a step in the right direction, bearing in mind that there have been clamors for a young candidate to run for the most powerful seat in Nigeria.

Moreso, his candidacy will give the southeast region a chance to contest for the 2023 presidency.
