Dr. Femi Adesina has said that bandits are being given a pounding by security agencies in the country, every day.

On Thursday, the honorable Special Adviser to President Muhammadu on Media and Publicity said that bandits are being given a pounding by security agencies in the country, every day.

Dr. Femi Adesina made this revelation through a statement he published on his official Facebook page. The Nigerian writer themed the statement, “They said nothing was happening, how about these?.”

In the statement he shared online, Femi Adesina said that bandits are being given a pounding by security agencies in the country every day. He made these claims while reacting to a critic which said that nothing is being developed in the country, other than wanton killings and massive insecurity. When replying, Femi Adesina noted that the government in Nigeria was on the right path to achieving multi-sectoral progress, adding that it has re-assessed and updated the national security strategy, which has contributed to success in fighting insurgents and banditry.

Speaking further, Femi Adesina said that Nigeria battles grave security challenges like many other countries, particularly in the Sahel region, but then, many other good things are happening, while bandits are also being given a pounding by agencies of the state.

Femi Adesina wrote, “Now, the narrative that some people have labored to paint over the years, either out of hatred, or cheap political reasons, is that nothing was happening in the country, other than wanton killings and massive insecurity. The trumpet and magnify insecurity to the exclusion of any other thing. Yes, Nigeria battles grave security challenges like many other countries, particularly in the Sahel region, but then, many other good things are happening, while bandits are also being given a pounding by agencies of the state.

“The government in Nigeria was on the right path to achieving multi-sectoral progress. It has re-assessed and updated the national security strategy, which has contributed to success in fighting insurgents and terrorists and also countering violent extremism.

“Still firing from the hips, Mr. President told his audience that there was a link between modern infrastructure and the overall economic development of a nation, “hence the massive infrastructural expansion program we have been executing in various sectors. Bandits are being given pounding by security agencies every day.

“He gave examples such as railways, seaports, roads, renewable energy, housing, and many others.”
