The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide has lambasted the Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa for allegdly saying “the South East harbour criminals, rebels and arsonists”.

A national daily, The Punch, reports that the senator made the remarks in a live television interview.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Amb. George Obiozor, in a statement through the National Publicity Secretary of the organization, Chief Alex Ogbonnia on Sunday, described the remarks as hate speech against the Igbo nation.
Condemning the remarks, Obiozor said such caustic and inflammatory attacks against the entire people of the South East was unwarranted.
He therefore demanded that the Senator representing Bauchi North senatorial district apologize to the entire Ndigbo and the South-East region.
Ohanaeze also urged Senate president, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawal, to reprimand Bulkachuwa publicly over his inflammatory comments.
