Alcohol is another food that can trigger arthritis when you consume too much of it. Alcohol is called a trigger food because it dehydrates the body and may cause more inflammation, which can make symptoms worse as well. Alcohol may also interact with either prescription or over-the-counter drugs you may be taking to treat arthritis. Reduce your Intake of alcohol since it can also damage your internal organs.

Aside increasing your risk of heart disease, foods high in saturated fat can also cause arthritis. Research has also shown that saturated fats or omega-6 fatty acids significantly worsened the arthritis that occurs after a knee injury. Foods that are high in saturated fat such as meat products, pasta and full-fat dairy foods should be consumed in moderation.
