Katsina, President Muhammadu Buhari‘s home state is one of the states most attacked by bandits in northwestern Nigeria. Bandits continue to carry out attacks in parts of the state despite the large number of security forces deployed and various exercises launched in the area.
In the past, Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari has negotiated with the bandits for peace.
However, the compromise has not worked, as the bandits continued to carry out attacks with indiscriminate killings and looting of their property.
This is the first time that gunmen have reportedly entered a boarding school and abducted dozens of students in Katsina State.
