After we have stolen the money, we killed the passenger and dragged her corpse into the bush- commercial bus driver confessed

A 30-year-old man, Ogungbemi Gbenga has confessed that, he killed and dragged his passenger into the bush along Sagamu-Benin expressway because of N400,000. Gbenga was a commercial driver of a Toyota Carina car with registration number AGD 107 GU who specializes on transporting traders from Sagamu area of Ogun State to Ekiti State.

Narrating the incident to the Police, the suspect said the robbery and murder operation was planned by him and his friend identified as OLibamoyo Tosin. Gbenga explained that, him and his friend robbed their passenger of N400,000 which she wanted to use in purchasing palm-oil in Ire-Ekiti.

The duo explained further that, after they had successfully stolen the money, they killed the passenger and dragged her corpse into the bush. The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Oyeyemi said, the suspects were arrested following a complain that a trader identified as Mrs Evelyn Ebere was missing on March 10th, 2020.

The PPRO said, the case was transferred to anti-kidnapping unit with an order from the Commissioner of police to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the woman.

The Police Spokesperson noted that, the deceased was a trader who specializes in selling palm oil. He stated that, the deceased was going to Ire-Ekiti to buy twenty-six kegs of palm oil before she was killed by the two suspects.

Oyeyemi however maintained that, the remains of the deceased’s body has been recovered in the bush along Sagamu-Benin expressway.
